Why and What's a guardian?
A Guardian Program is a partnership between a breeder and a selected family in which a family provides a loving, permanent home for a breeding dog while Pincksten Family Doodles retains breeding for a specified period of time. This allows our program to remain kennel free, also providing a normal pet life-while contributing to a responsible breeding program.
Our selected Guardian Family will raise, love and care for our breeding dog as a member of your family at no upfront cost. The guardian family takes full responsibility for the dogs daily care, training and expenses-this includes food, routine vet care, grooming,etc. Apart of our program means releasing the breeding dog to us for any health testing, grooming, vet visits, testing, mating, visitations, whelping or stud services upon the request from Pincksten Family Doodles.
Once our breeding agreement is fulfilled, Pincksten Family Doodles will spay/neuter breeding dog at our cost and transfer full ownership over to guardian family.
requirements needed to be a guardian family
- Provide adequate grooming-with a approved groomer
- Must teach basic commands-sit, stay, down, leave-it and walk on a leash
- Be willing to socialize your dog or puppy
- Must maintain as a indoor pet-and always be supervised
- Must have a fenced in yard or electric fence in place within 3 months of obtaining guardian dog
- Feed a premium quality food-Approved by Pincksten Family Doodles
- All other dogs residing with guardian family must be spayed/neutered
- Must be willing to meet or deliver when requested
- Must be willing to allow Pincksten Family Doodles visitations to guardians home residence when requested
- Provide routine Veterinary Care at guardians expense (not including breeding related expenses-this is covered by PFD)
- If obtaining Female Dog-Required to watch for a report heat cycles, release to PFD during cycles and one week prior to due date.
- Maintain excellent communication-this is NOT negotiable
- Guardian home must provide a high quality pet insurance
Guardian family understands that they will NOT obtain or have rights to said breeding dog owned by Pincksten Family Doodles
